Process

Each piece is scraped and sanded front and back using scrapers and wire brushes.

 

 

I don't truly understand it. I just know I am called to create it. believe it comes from my soul and not from my mind, as the mind cannot create that which it cannot comprehend.

 

Holding the piece up to the light, illuminating the holes, indicates where I  stitch with heavy thread.  The process of using light to determine my stitching feels almost sacred. Even now, I must close my eyes and put my hand over my heart, lest the feeling escape.
